3 Months Goes By so Quickly!!!

I cannot believe it has been nearly three months since my last post. We have been very busy as is to be expected with a new home but we are settling in. We had a big burst of activity before Christmas to get the place ready for the influx of visitors (can someone please tell the world that Christmas is 1 day not two weeks!!??). We have now slowed down a bit as the new home funds dwindled and the 'normal' work routines kicked in. I am now back to the usual frantic pace of 10-12 hour days and running kids around but I have found time for some pot planting, although the garden is still a patch of dirt. I now have to get very creative to try to establish our gardens, complete internal projects and install light fittings etc on a drastically reduced budget!

Christmas colour scheme this year was ice gold and pale silver with pinks and purples. All the folks pitched in on the day and Mum and Dad stayed for a week or so, helping with curtains and running the family. I love having my Mum around!

I did manage some planning for Christmas during the chaos of the big move before Christmas and was happy with how things came together. The new outdoor setting came in very handy and there was room for all around the tables. I just love the sandstone tiles in this travertine pattern.

The new couches arrived from Freedom before Christmas - they are so comfortable. The fabric is a bit different but I still love it - Warwick Loop Onyx. The scatters were a bit of a disappointment though. I paid a fortune for some big fluffy cushions in the loop onyx and they are flat!! (Not happy - I also waited for over 2 months AFTER they were supposed to be completed)

Below are snaps of the entry, light fitting in this area and the water feature through the windows. The water feature is not yet operational - waiting for the gardens around it.

More snaps to come of the curtains and alfresco.
